Which programs can be billed together?

The rules NurseDot checks before a month is ready to bill, following Medicare (CMS) rules for 2026. Commercial plans vary.

  • Together RPM with CCM, PCM or BHI in the same month, without counting the same minutes twice.
  • Not together CCM and PCM by the same practitioner, same patient, same month.
  • Not together APCM with CCM, PCM or TCM in the same month.
  • 2026 New RPM codes: 99445 for 2 to 15 reading days, and 99470 for 10 to 19 minutes of treatment management.

AWV and MTM aren't programs in CareDots today. Software tracks time and checks rules; it doesn't guarantee payment.

Devices

Readings from home, no app store needed.

  • Bluetooth meters pair in PatientDot: blood pressure cuffs, glucose meters, scales, pulse oximeters and heart rate monitors.
  • Readings go straight to the chart, count toward RPM reading days, and Chief's Watchlist flags who needs attention.
  • Patients can type readings in when they don't have a meter that pairs.
  • Good to know: pairing works in Chrome on Android or a computer, not on iPhone.
  • Cellular devices (no phone needed) aren't supported yet.
  • We don't ship devices; use your device vendor.

AI that does the work

Hours of admin, handed to Chief.

AI scribe

Records the visit or call, then drafts the SOAP note, tasks and a message for the patient. Your clinician reviews and signs.

Care plans

Chief drafts a care plan from the chart and your templates; your team edits it and assigns it in PatientDot.

Eligibility

Chief checks chart diagnoses against each program's rules and lists the patients who may qualify.

Consent calls

Chief calls eligible patients from your practice number, explains the program and its cost, and offers to book the first visit.

AI receptionist

Chief answers calls on the number you choose, books appointments and hands callers to a person when asked.

FAQ

Questions practices ask.

Can we bill RPM and CCM for the same patient?

Yes, Medicare allows both in the same month as long as the same minutes aren't counted twice. CareDots tracks the time for each.

What happens if a patient doesn't send readings?

Billing shows each patient's reading days, so a month without enough isn't marked ready for the RPM device code, and Chief's Watchlist flags them for follow-up.

Do patients need a smartphone?

To send readings automatically, yes, or a computer: PatientDot pairs Bluetooth meters in Chrome. Patients can also type readings in. Cellular devices aren't supported yet.

What caller ID do patients see?

Your practice number, so callbacks come to the practice, not a personal phone or your triage line.

Do you run the program for us?

No. CareDots is software your team runs, with Chief doing the routine calls and drafts.
